A great grandmother has scooped a £50,000 prize pot whilst playing bingo at her local Buckingham Bingo Club in Bootle, Liverpool on Saturday, 7th March 2009. In addition to her win 350 fellow players won £50 each as well taking the total amount shelled out by the bingo hall to a whopping £67,500 in just one day.
The 70 year old from Formby won the money on a Bucky Bullseye ticket by calling the full house on the number 50! The winner who wanted to remain anonymous plays twice a week with her daughter at the Bootle club. Even though her daughter wasn’t present as she won the £50,000 windfall she has vowed to share the cash with her as well as other family members.
She then went on to say “I have eighteen grand children who will all get a little something from me too”. As well as “My daughter and I will be going on a little holiday as well. I didn’t sleep on Saturday night because I was so excited.”
The now very popular grandma is also the best friend of everyone at the club on Saturday afternoon, because as a result of her win the 350 other players will each receive £50!
