Eurovision Song contest odds!

Norway are the favourites to win the Eurovision song contest this year which is reflected by their 11/8 price with Paddy Power.

The UK’s contestant is also proving to be hugeley popular this year, forcing Paddy Power to shorten the odds on a UK victory to 14/1 from 20/1.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber ballad sung by the striking songstress Jade is not only a big hit with the UK’s patriotic punters but it is also going down a storm with the Irish fans too!

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power explains: "The Irish are turning their attention to the UK because it looks like our entry won't even make it out of the starting blocks! With a strong song and a sexy singer, the UK has a fantastic chance this year and they could very well defy the odds and the Balkan countries and win the title for the first time since 1997."

Just how much support the UK will receive from Ireland is an unanswerable question, but Paddy Power are quoting odds of 9/4 that the Irish will give the UK a maximum twelve points.

In recent years the UK have failed miserably in gaining votes from other European nations, and unremitting block voting from the Balkan states saw Terry Wogan throw in the towel as the BBC's long standing commentator for the show.

Comedian Graham Norton is the presenter of the Eurovision song contest and as a result there could be a few surprises in store!

Paddy Power are taking bets on which clichéd phrase Norton will say first. 'Fabulous' is the 6/1 favourite followed with 'Is she naked?' at 66/1 and 'It's not Terry's, it's mine!' at 100/1!

The first Eurovision semi final will take place tonight, followed by a second semi-final on Thursday. The Eurovision Final will take place this Saturday at 8pm.

Be sure to tune in and if your feeling lucky why not place a cheeky wager!?
